January 29, 2011 — The Yonge-University-Spadina line will be shut down from Union to Bloor stations beginning 2 a.m. Saturday until Monday at 6 a.m.

Crews are working at College station on a new double cross-over track. All trains on the University-Spadina line will turn back to Union and those running on the Yonge line will reroute back to Bloor-Yonge station.

There will be frequent shuttle buses travelling between the Bloor-Yonge and Union stations. This is the first of three planned closures to take place on the Yonge-University line.

The subway closure will be difficult for those trying to get around the city over the weekend. There are a lot of events happening in Toronto including Winterlicious and a Toronto Rock game. There are also two big events taking place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre: the Ultimate Travel Show and the Interior Design Show.
