Various events throughout the downtown core will leave people scrambling to find alternative routes this weekend. Here is a list of some of the road closures you can expect:
Another marathon is being run on Toronto roads. 14,000 people are expected to participate in the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon. The full marathon begins at 9 a.m. and the half marathon starts at 8 a.m. Sunday. The main portion of the race takes place on Yonge Street, from Finch Avenue to Bloor Street with other roads being affected. Runners take off behind Mel Lastman Square and end at Queen's Park. People are encouraged to take public transit to avoid delays.
A section of the Bloor-Danforth subway line, between Kipling and Islington stations, will be closed after the end of Friday service until Monday at 6 a.m. Shuttle bus service will run between the stations beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday.
The northbound lanes of the Don Valley Parkway have reopened early.
