July 9, 2010 — One year ago today, a deadly F2 tornado hit the small community of Ear Falls, Ontario. We look back at this significant weather event.
On July 9, 2009, at 8:20p.m., a thunderstorm cell spawned an F2 tornado striking Fisherman's Cove Resort on Lac Seul, a small lake near the remote town of Ear Falls, Ontario.
The tornado tore apart cabins and other resort buildings. One cabin was found in the water. The storm killed three American tourists. It was the deadliest tornado to hit the province since 1985.
