It's Winter festival season in many parts of the country, but the biggest celebration of all is now underway in Ottawa.
The city's 32nd annual Winterlude festival kicked off yesterday. Throughout the month of February, about 650,000 people are expected to attend the event.
The celebrations include an ice carving competition, giant snow slides and skating on the Rideau Canal.
This year, the canal opened later than originally scheduled, thanks to a stretch of mild temperatures in December. But now, the National Capital Commission says the ice is safe and ready for skaters.
If you plan on heading out to Winterlude today, don't let the sunshine fool you! It's quite cold today in the Nation's Capital, so bundle up!
