February 16, 2010 — First rain, then snow. Weather continues to be a big problem at the Vancouver Games.
Athletes, organizers and spectators just can't seem to catch a break. Race organizers were forced to reschedule the men's Alpine skiing events at Whistler Mountain Tuesday due to heavy snow.
Meanwhile, Cypress is one venue that could certainly use some snow. Training sessions and races were cancelled there due to heavy rain and warm temperatures. Not to mention, thousands of tickets were refunded to fans because the spectator's area is completely washed out.
Despite all the problems the weather is causing, athletes and even spectators aren't letting it dampen their spirits. One spectator says,'I think it's better for them to wait for the right conditions, definitely. Looks like tomorrow might be a good day.'
And that fan has the right idea.
The rain has already tapered off and the rest of the week is expected to be dry and sunny.
